Amberkite

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 August 2026

Amberkite has no server.

Everything you write in the app stays on your phone. We cannot see it, we cannot recover it, and we cannot lose it. There is no account to create, no email to give us, and no password to remember.

We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent or share your personal data. The rest of this page explains that in detail, and describes the one situation in which we do receive something from you: when you choose to write to us.

Who we are

Amberkite is developed and published by Deciu Software (Elena Deciu), a sole developer based in Brașov, Romania. For anything in this policy, including privacy questions and requests, write to support@getamberkite.com.

For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Deciu Software is the data controller for the limited support correspondence described below. For everything you store inside the app, there is no controller relationship, because that data never reaches us.

What the app stores, and where it lives

Amberkite stores what you enter into it: appointments, renewal and expiry dates, bills and payments, lists, important information, work notes, and habit records, together with your reminder settings.

All of it is written to a database file inside the app's own private storage area on your device. On Android, that area is readable only by Amberkite. It is not uploaded anywhere. No copy is sent to us, and no copy is held by us.

What we receive from you

Nothing, with one exception: if you decide to contact us.

When you write to support

Amberkite has a "Report a problem" feature. It does not send anything by itself. It opens your own email app with a message already drafted, which you can read, edit, shorten, or simply not send.

If you send it, we receive your email address and whatever the message contains. The drafted technical section includes:

It does not include the contents of any entry: no names, no dates, no amounts, no notes. Counts only. Everything is visible to you in the email before you send it, and you may delete any part of it.

Please do not attach screenshots of your drawers or of your personal details. We do not need them, and we would rather not have them.

We use support correspondence only to answer you and to fix the problem you reported. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing support and in improving the app. We keep support emails only as long as they are useful for that purpose, and no longer than 24 months, after which they are deleted.

Payments and subscriptions

Amberkite is sold as a subscription through Google Play. The entire purchase is handled by Google. We never see and never receive your card number, your billing name, or your billing address.

What we receive from Google is aggregated sales and subscription reporting, which tells us how many subscriptions are active — not who holds them. Your purchase is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

Backups to your own Google account

Android includes a system-level backup feature. If it is switched on in your device settings, Android may include Amberkite's data in the encrypted backup stored in your own Google account, so that your entries return if you reinstall the app or move to a new phone.

This is a function of Android, not of Amberkite. The backup belongs to you, sits in your Google account, and we have no access to it and no way to read it. You can turn it off at any time in your device settings.

Separately, the app lets you export your data to a file. That file is created at your request, it is placed wherever you choose, and it is yours alone. Nothing is uploaded during an export.

Permissions the app asks for

That is the complete list. Amberkite does not request access to your location, contacts, calendar, camera, microphone, photos, call logs, or messages. When you import or export a backup file, you pick that single file yourself through the system file picker; the app never browses your storage on its own.

What Amberkite does not do

Children

Amberkite is designed for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly process data from children. Since the app collects nothing, this holds by design rather than by promise.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form.

In practice, we hold no personal data about you, so for almost everything there is nothing for us to hand over, correct or delete. These rights apply to the one category we do hold: support correspondence. To exercise them, write to support@getamberkite.com. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Romania this is the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP, dataprotection.ro). If you live elsewhere in the EU or the UK, you may complain to your own national authority.

Deleting your data

Because your data is on your phone, you control its deletion completely:

Nothing needs to be requested from us, because there is nothing held by us.

International transfers. We operate no servers and transfer no data anywhere. Support emails reach an email service and are stored there; where that provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, it does so under the safeguards described in its own policies.

Security

Your data is protected by Android's own application sandbox, which prevents other applications from reading Amberkite's files, and by the device lock you set. Keeping a screen lock and system updates current is the most effective protection available, because there is no copy anywhere else to be breached.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also say so inside the app. This page is the current version at all times.
